Thursday 8th March Afternoon and Evening - Cultural events and official dinner with partners 15.30 City walk: sightseeing and guided shopping 19.30 Dinner at Kvilhaugen, pick-up at the hotel 19.00 Trondheim Cathedral the biggest church in northern Norway. We had a lovely visit around this interesting building.  No photgrpahy was allowed.  Here is a brief version of our tour.  St Olaf was originally a Viking. 1014 he got a baptism and returned to Norway with 2 goals   Olaf believes he was a descendent of the kings and he wanted to become the king of Norway in his early 20's   His 2nd goal was to have Christianity the only legal religion - and done it with the sword in one hand  - killing those who did not submit.  This strengthening relationship between church and king   Eventually he became unpopular and he fled Norway.   In 1030 Big battle to retain his crown which ended in his death.   ...

Thursday, March 8th 2018 - Visit to Liantunet Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious. -Ruth Reichl  On the morning of Thursday March 8th, Tina, Enda, Elsie, Mary and Niamh visited Liantunet – a Restaurant and associated Catering School on a beautifully elevated area outside Trondheim. The Restaurant is frequented by many visitors, locals, and enthusiastic skiers and serves lunch and evening dinner as part of their business. A small section adjacent to the main dining area is used by Secondary School students on a daily/weekly basis where the students learn to prepare, cook, present and serve a multi-course meal. Training, Guidance and Expertise is given by trained chefs and the students learn various culinary skills and theory. As part of their course in Childcare, the adult learners do their work-experience placement here alongside the Secondary students where they observe the work practices, offer guidance and support ...

Thursday 8th March - KVT. The Erasmus group were split into two with 5 going to KVT and 5 to Ordal.
