14th November 2017 - Day 1 of Erasmus Visit to Dublin
“You're off to Great Places!Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting,So... get on your way!”
Arrived at the DDLETB head office and was delighted I made it on time as was slightly nervous about the traffic and encountering backlog on the M50.
I saw a gap in a table and asked if the chair was free and then realised that I had sat down with three of the Norwegians, so we were off to a great start. Immediately got chatting and was really enjoying it.
There were a number of really interesting presentations on the DDLETB - I never realised that the Youth and FE sectors were so big, my perception was that the secondary sector was the biggest.
There was a really good presentation and discussion on the Irish Education sector by Walter and then a presentation on the childcare sector as many of the participants are working/teaching in this area.
Overall a good discussion and then lunch.
I had a good chat with Hans Ole and he was anxious to attend a business class I said I would be delighted to interact with him and we made enquiries about attending an event together.
In the end I arranged to attend Greenhills Community college the next morning on the invitation of Mary Mc Mahon.
After a lovely lunch the group left for the city but I could not join it as I had other commitments.
Niamh O Grady also invited me to visit Deansrath on Thursday which also sounded very interesting,
